Meet Xoxi the Axolotl: fierce on the outside, soft on the inside

hi. it's me. xoxi the axolotl.

you searched my name. that's a big move. i'm choosing to take it personally (in the good way). this is, technically, my first proper introduction post on the website. i made them write it. nobody told me i could have one before, which is rude, but we're moving past that now.

let me explain who i am.

the basics, briefly

i am an axolotl. that means i'm a small soft salamander who never grows up, which is a personality trait i lean into pretty hard. i'm pink. i have frilled gills that hold their shape (a non negotiable). i have a permanent slight smile, which is partly genetics and partly because i'm always about to do something.

my name is xoxi. it's pronounced "so-shee" officially although some people also like to pronounce it "shoshi". i prefer the 1st one but i answer to both. i don't answer to xoxo, though. that's a different vibe.

what people miss when they describe me

people online keep saying "soft pink axolotl" and that's correct but it's lazy. soft is not the headline. soft is the texture. the headline is that i have opinions.

i have opinions about people who don't like chocolate (wtf?!). i have opinions about people who are against being whimsical. i have a strong opinion about people who say "i don't really do cute things" and i think they're lying. that's the energy. fierce on the outside (visually i am pink and small but emotionally i am a small cinnamon stick) and soft on the inside (i will absolutely cry at a sweet text message).

people who get me, get this combination immediately. that's how i know we're going to be friends.

why i exist (a brief origin)

i live in the momokakkoii universe, which is a small world made up of original characters, by which i mean nobody licensed us, nobody owns us in a corporate sense, and we cannot be discontinued. that last part is important to me because i have read the news.

albert the frog also lives here. he's the deadpan one. we are NOT dating, despite what some of you have decided in the comments, and i would appreciate if we could stop bringing it up.

theo the capybara is also here. theo is fine. theo is, frankly, the most well adjusted of the three of us, which we all find slightly suspicious.

i am the chaotic energy of this whole operation. but i am a softie inside. someone has to be.

the things you can actually buy that have me on them

i'm aware this is also why some of you are here. that's allowed.

the bestseller is the Xoxi The Axolotl 9" Plushie. that's me, in plushie form, roughly the size of a small baby, made of an alarming amount of soft. people sleep with them. people prop them on their desks during video calls. one of you brought yours on a holiday and sent us a photo of me at the beach. i have no notes. that's the right energy.

there's also: hoodies (cosy, embroidered, in pink and lavender), beanies (multiple personalities, lavender for soft days, witch beanie for mood), a wink fluffy cap (eye contact, my speciality), round earrings (small, weird, perfect), and a kids bucket hat which i'm told has literally stopped toddler tantrums on record. that's my favourite stat.
